I have a 5.3L V8 and i really like the way straight exhaust sounds. Can straight exhaust hurt your engine that bad or can i get way with doing? If bad what can will happen? oh and by the way i have 40 series flowmaster already but i want something a lot louder.

You will loose a lot of your low end tourque with straight pipes, if you want to go straight maybe add some bends or some restriction.

Here is what I had after straight a straight pipe and personally I think it sounded great while it was like that, now it's a diffrent animal.

Bullets are pretty slick, cheap and effective.

any straight-thru muffler would be better.

I love my bullet. Deep throaty tone at cruise and beautiful when you get on it hard...at least on Bessie anyway. I've got mine dumped right now and I'm considering putting it out the back because I'm tired of having to talk over it. I do plan on one day putting in some sound deadening stuff, so maybe I won't.

But yeah, straight pipes are horrible. Loud, yes, definitely loud...but sounds disgusting.
