I have been hearing a strange noise though the steering wheel. It seems to do it the most when I am going slow about 30 mph and under. It will do it if the road is slightly rough, just a few bumps here and there. It will do it when I am braking at times and when I am turning. Seems like it does it more when I am turning left too but that could just be my imagination. What could this possibly be?

Its excessive play in the intermediate steering shaft. The old fix was to remove it and fill with grease, which helps for a while, but the noise/rattle comes back. Finally, GM has come out with a replacement part. I think its a warranty item, for those still eligible under the 3-year plan. Otherwise we have to pay ourselves. Its not a bad DIY project. Contact your dealer for details.
