So after putting my tahoe underwater a few weeks ago I'm slowing fixing and replacing things.

One of my last things is the rear diff oil, am I dumb and blind or is there no drain/fill plugs? I have the standard open 3.73 (code GT4 I think) axle. I suppose taking the cover off will get it drained for me but what next? Is there some type of cheap kit I can buy to add plugs? or some kind of cheap replacement cover with plugs already?

Front diff oil looked like chocolate milk btw. And if you thought it was chocolate milk and drank some the pepto bismol that came out of the tranny and transfer case might help yer stomach. But the front had a pretty nice leak already so no big surprise there.

to drian.. remove the cover

to fill... theres a 4 sided plug that a ratchet fits into on the nose of the diff. Remove it and fill.

Yep

Before you take the cover off, just make sure you can get the fill plug out first. They like to be a bitch to take off.

You can get a replacement cover with a drain plug from summit or something.
