Just finished installing a sub in my GFs cobalt and it doesnt work, pretty sure its the sub but not sure, no signs of damage but just doesnt work. Not sure how too find out if its the sub except hooking it up to my amp but thats last resort. Any advice?

Take the speaker wire comin off the sub and touch the leads to the corrisponding terminals on a 9v battery. the sub will move up and down when connectin it and disconneting it. if it does nothin, the sub is junk.

Ok so tried the 9v and the sub responds? so now what, maybe the amps bad? the light comes on so i asume it works

check you RCA connections at the Deck and the Amp. The RCA inputs could be bad on the amp. Make sure the Deck doesnt have a sub on/off feature. If it does, make sure is on.

No deck, line/high low converter. and i switched to another amp it it works, first amp is junk. thanks for the help though guys
