Ok here is the deal, im wanting to put a bigger notch in my frame so i dont bottom out with my 8'" rear drop. i already have the Belltech notch. In the future i would like to bag the truck but im not worried about laying frame or anything like that. i was thinking of either buying a super c-notch from shAIM, or one of the 8" notches you bagged guys use. Im wanting it to all stay under the bed though, can i trim the 8" notch to make it not so tall to fit under the bed??

I've also been told you can trim the 8" to fit. But you'll have plenty of time to think about how to trim it......shipping is slow but I know its worth it.

I wont be trimming mine down...slice goes the bed! Hell I have a 10" notch but can't use it b/c I have to mod the stock shock mounts. And I'm not bagging so I dont want to do that...blows

if you are wanting to stay out of the bed...an 8" notch is a waste of time.
just get a 2x2x1/4 squre tubing cut to about 8 inches(2) weld it to the top of the frame rails. cut out enough to make your rear end tuck....then weld up the sides with some scrape 2x4x1/4 square tubing..then box in as much of the frame you want....you'll have to trim your bed supports to fit the 2x2 on the top of the frame rails...but it's worth it.

if this dont help you understand what im talking about...then i dont know what will.

but that's the ONLY way i've seen it done and not cut the bed. because when you go with a bigger notch..you are paying more money...so why throw money away when you can get left over steel and have one made yourself?
i'm getting mine made for 25.00 at my friends shop and another 20 for enough gussets and plates to box my frame from the cab to the back.

that's what i did on my 88 gmc, ended up dragging the lca off it...lmao..but that's when i was young and dumb...but it's ok...i wanted a new truck anyways...so i went buy one and ended up spending a lot of money on it when my best friend got killed..and that's how i found this site and started to find new ideas...

i hope you know someone that can weld....just buy the steel..and do it at home.

peace
