I've seen people switch their overhead silverado console for one out of a tahoe with homelink(garage door opener built in) i'd like to do this but i know the tahoe ones have the climate control up there. Can i just take the plastic storage spot out of mine and stick it in the tahoe overhead console?

Short or long console? The long ones can only use the block off plate unless you fab something yourself. The short ones im not sure about.

id im not mistaken they have plastic rivets holding in the storage area but if youre handy you could figure a way to hold it in there

yep mine came with the rear climate control, i just drilled out the plastic pegs that held it on there and used short sheet metal screws to attach the pocket from my old console
