:whyme: why am I an idiot sometimes.....

Autotrac.

It looks like its a yoke type (what ever is the right word) that just slides into the t-case and then the front d-shaft/u-joint bolts onto it.

Here is my issue. The boot keeps popping off on the t-case side. The other end of the boot is clamped in place in a recessed/groved section near the u-joint.

If I take it apart I can see whats going on better I think.

Would the yoke pull out of the t-case AT ALL from the lift? If it does then I think that is what is causing it.

Hmm isnt the yolk bolted in? It shouldnt move. Allthough I could be wrong ive never looked at the front of the autotrac cases. Are there 4 or 6 bolts around teh yolk, thats how I would imagine it would come off.

One of the cases I have, out of a 2002 HD with an allison, it has the slip yoke style front shaft... But it had no boot. It had a seal that was pressed into the front of the t-case housing that you just pry out and press a new one in but thats it.
