Hey guys I have a problem and I'm trying to see if what I think the solution is really will work. My rear driver’s side tail light doesn't work. I have brake lights/blinkers/reverse lights; it’s just the running light. Tdevlin1984's truck is also doing this. We worked Saturday and put a meter to them both. We have power coming thru the main harness for running lights coming into what i call the junction plate, not sure what’s its really called. The power gets lost in that plate and never makes it to the plug that goes to the rear driver’s side light. So there has to be something wrong in that junction plate right? How much does one of those costs? Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks for any help.
Have you tried replacing the bulb yet? I think thats a dual filament bulb, so since your brake lights work, but running lights dont, maybe one of the filaments is burned out. Same thing happened to me, just the other way around.
Humm no i havn't tryied that. I'm at work so i'll go out on my break and put the passenger side bulb in it since i know that bulb is good. Then I can rule that out. Thanks for the input. I'll post up my finding of the bulb.
Not sure, but I have the same problem. Everything else works just fine, just the driver's side running light.. I just upgraded to 04 tails with new OEM harnesses, so there's I don't think it's anything wrong before power gets to the connector plate (not sure, but I think it's the name for the part)
Tried switching the bulbs around, and the passenger side still work.
I'm really interested to see that fixes yall's problem to see if it fixes mine.
Checked the bulbs are they are fine. I think its that plate going to the stealership and try to get a part number at lunch so i can look it up on gmpartdirect.com
Junkyard:anitoof: I got one for my ex girlfriends. Only $2. The stocker was corroded all to be damned. I've heard different reasons as to why, but GMs seem to have lighting problems on the driver's side of the vehicles.
went to Autozone, the guy said it was the connector plate.. What he gave me looked nothing like the junction box where the harnesses plug into. Any idea on how to install the thing?

they go out a lot pretty common and the general term is bulb harness any parts store should know what you're talking about. less than 20 bucks and i wouldn't go to a junk yard for electronics as they have been sitting for a while
I already have one. Got a TYC Brand New one from autozone. My question is how do I install it? I've traced the line from taillight the distribution block, and I haven't found out where the piece goes.
Not sure of the part number, but the more I think about it, it's the wrong part. Guess I'll go to Autozone and get money back on it. I think I'm just going to go to the dealership and see what I can come up with.
They seem to think it's the junction block. I have the GM part number, will post it as soon as I get home. I'll replace it tonight and see if it fixes it. THe part was only around $25 w/ tax.
Same here I replaced mine and it didn't work. But me and tdevlin both fixed ours today and its a 10 amp fuse under the hood labeled rl park. And on both of ours it was blown.
