Where did you guy's get your 160 thermostat?
I bought one from SLP and got one from Hypertech and neither of them fit.
The Hypertech says it will fit a 5.3 but doesn’t. Please a little bit of help. I order both from Jegs.

160° is too low. Stick with stock or 180°

mine is stock and it runs at 185* ALL THE TIME, whether it's 40* weather or 110* heat. These engines are designed to run in the 180-210 range

the ECT runs higher than the temp on the thermostat, i have a 186 in my truck and it runs at stock temp 195. So a 160 in my estimation will 175 to 175. So the question is where to get a good 160 stat that fits. I know that certain years that require a new housing. Anyway know which years need a new housing and which don't? i know i replaced my stock with a 180 stat and it ran stock, and i didn't need a new housing.

Pretty sure it must be '04-up that don't require the housing, because my '04 6.0L I just replaced the t-stat, didn't need new housing...

Engine oil needs to be nice and hot. I have a 160°F + 34" rad and the temps are too low.

Well i have a distinct feeling my truck is gonna run at around 175ish with a 160 thermo. Anyway, i went to SLP's site and they have a $25.00 minimum on orders, but the stat is $24.95, after shipping and everything it's like $38.00 and it still says order is below minimum, what a bunch of BS. Oh well, i'll try summit or somewhere else. RETARDED!!!!!!!
