Well, it was going to be a good day. UNTIL:bawl: I checked a curb with one of my rims. I know it was bad when I felt the hit. I was making a turn around in a apartment complex driveway, but couldnt make it, so I backed up and went to head out. Apperantly the curb was out a bit farther than I thought. Bam, right rear catches curb. I didnt even want to get out and look, when I did I saw the dust from the concrete on the rim, and a scrap on the lip about 5" long, oh I feel so sick still. I called the guy to price a new one, 545.00 too much for me just to have a matching spare. Enlighten me if this has happened to you or anybody you know. Thanks for listening.

ahh that sux. What about just sending it out for repairs ?
Well, I dont know. Im going tomorrow to the dude I got them from and see. Im sure his shop has somebody, and will see if its worth fixing or what. we will see.
And you know what else sucks. Im looking here for some other horror stories, but yet, I have had like 85 people look at this and no one has had any rim bending or scraping experiances. Man, you guys suck!
what kind of wheel is it?
I bent the backside of my Centerline ED Shadow in my wreck. But, it's s small enough bend, and being on the backside of the rim, it doesn't really matter.

Sucks dude,

I hit a pothole when I had less than 500 miles on my new rims and tires and it busted the tire and cracked the rim. Now its a $500 paperweight that I display at shows.....the front side looks fine but if you flip it over you will see the 16" crack and the bent inside lip

the crack goes from the top of the picture down past the weights
See less See more
Wow, looking at that, I got off easy. Man that sucks! You couldnt like try to have the city pay, telling them it was because of their crappy streets and show them the pothole?

ha, good luck on that one:imo i wouldnt imagine them doing that. if that were the case, MANY would try and scam them claiming such things happened. good luck finding/getting a new wheel man:shake:
Call around to body shops and ask them who does their wheel repairs. Their will be a shop to do it. There is one floating around here in Pittsburgh. He's actually mobile with the whole shebang. He did a Bonneville wheel for me that looked worse than yours. Came out awesome, polished lip and all. And it outlasted the other 3 stock wheels. Dad now has a Bonneville with 1 perfect wheel and three corroded wheels at 190k miles.

I don't know how good their work is, but I know they repair wheels.

Oh, and yea I have bent more than one wire wheel before back in the day. Sucks ass.
