So im pretty sure i've seen this before, standard chrome with just a slight tint, usually black...can this be done? if so, can it be done tinted to basically any color?

as some may know, my wheels are totally FUBAR'd in the chrome department and i have been debating just getting them re-chromed professionally somewhere and thought a very very slight, i mean VERY slight blue tint might be kinda cool

The blue tint might sound cool now, but it prolly won't look as good as you think or you'll get tired of it. Plus, good luck trying to sell blue wheels when the times comes to get rid of em.

true, im talking ULTRA faint though, like to where you can barely even tell theres any blue tint at all, almost like its just reflecting a blue object and it still looks like straight up chrome unless you get really close and even then, really really light. i dunno maybe if i find somewhere that can do it i could try it on just a piece of metal and see how it looks, otherwise i think maybe new wheels are hopefully in my future

There is this guy that powder coats wirewheels and sells them on layitlow.com. I'm sure if he can do wires he can do other rims as well. From the feed back on the site he is a stand up guy. Here is some of his work.

I think you are thinking of something like the first pic but maybe a little lighter? His screen name is homeboyz and he can be found in the wheels and tires forum.
