Basically i think my truck is going to need tires either this fall or in the spring. I would rather get them in the fall so i can have good grip for the winter. However i am confused on which to get. I really want a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers, looks like i can get a good price on them from my local NTB. They seem to have a good tread for occasional dirt roads and gravel and field driving that will happen every now and then. However last night while browsing CL i found a set of BFG Rugged Trail TAs, take off's from a Dodge Ram. They are selling all 4 with 60% tread left for 180 bucks. I am kinda thinking this might just be a better deal. now these are the Rugged Trails that look like a more mild version of the All Terrians. We have them on our cummins, they seem to work well but i dont drive that truck very often. So should i just jump ont hose cause they are a decent tire and cheap or wait it out for some Nittos?

So, my current tires are starting to dry rot. I bought the truck in january this year with 18k on it. Its an 06. i dont think the people who owned it drove it other then in the winter or to haul mulch ( i found a shit ton sitting on the gas tank ). So since they didnt drive ti much, the tires are starting to crack. The cracks are around the main tread blocks in the center of the tire. Most tires will have some wrinkle on them but these are cracks around the whole tire and all the tread in the center pattern. So im concerned that there might be too much dry rot on them. they arent chunking off, cupping or wearing funny, it just doesnt seem like a tire on an 06 should be this cracked already. So how much is too much??

My dad has the BFGs on his cummins and they work very well. I agree with 03z71ext that you should jump on them and save for a better set! Good luck!
