I have a 01 2500hd ext cab 4wd silverado. I have 245/75r16 right now. I do have torsion keys and I have heard I can do 285s no problem. Would I be able to do 305s without rubbing?

Yes but will look like dew dew on stock wheels. 285s be much better. Same height but not as wide. 305s needs 10 wide wheels imo.

I have seen pics of 305s on stockers and I think they look fine. But I think the 16" stockers are like 6 or 7" wide, so 285 is as wide as I'd go

Ya it's a hard choice I'm defintly keeping the stock rims. Any good tires for 285s or 305s I was thinking the bfgoodrich allterains. I wanted to get the super swamper irok nd's cause I had them on my old truck but in 37s not 285s ha

Well to each there own. I got rid of the factory wheels for my duramax due to them being 6.5 wide. Made the 285s wear funny. Have 16x8s now and looks much better. Think 9 wides would be perfect. My old truck had 16x10 and 305s nittos terra grapplers and I loved it. I also recommend that tire very highly.
