dad had a nail in his tire. took it to firestone. they said the tire is "too soft" from driving it around at a lower psi and won't plug it and it needs replacing. are they just bullshitting him for a new tire or what?

when you drive tires around on low air, they get really hot, and the rubber starts to brake down.

if there is a groove in the sidewall and/or they broke the bead and found powdered rubber inside, they are right.

also, if its a runflat, they shouldnt plug it at all.
