how are torque converters for a daily driven truck..? i have a 2003 sierra 5.3 with longtubes, intake, and exhaust... and was wondering if a texas speed cam 228/228 .588 .588 with a 112 lsa be way to big to run with a yank 3200 converter on my daily.. someone told me that would be a good set up.. what do you all think..? if not what would be a better cam and converter combo..? 224/224 .566 .566 with a 3000..? i dont know much about cams if you cant tell..

I'd want a lot more stall than that for that cam in a 5.3

I'm running a 224/224 with 3200 stall and wish I had gone 3400-3600.

I'd look into a smaller cam or a bigger converter!

If you dont plan on racing the truck and really stretching out the rpms, I would not get a cam that big(228/228)

I agree with Mark, a tr220 with a nice sized stall and you will be happy.

Like everyone else said, smaller cam..

BTW, I have a 216/220 and run a PT3200 on my DD, I love it.....

depends on traffic. Sometimes it sucks, but the improvement during any other time completely makes up for it IMO. Temps go up in heavy stop and go (why you also complement it with a cooler and temp gauge among other things) when you have to keep reving it just to get going, then stop again, just to do it over and over again, but it's honestly not anywhere near as bad as it sounds. Don't be intimidated with the stall, I like my Yank 3600 and have absolutely no regrets.

That's a pretty big cam for a DD in these trucks too, IMO. But then again, all depends on where you drive/commute.
