The Wife's '02 Tahoe has just over 100K miles with regular (no major) service. Last month I replaced the front differential output shaft seals and vent tube seal.

This week it started leaking what I thought was ATF, more than a drip but not a big puddle. A quick check revealed that the transfer case tube is wet and leaking down the transfer case and onto the ground. It was pretty easy to spot since it's at the highest point. Why is this suddenly leaking and what would cause it? This is a new one to me and lots of searching yielded nada.

We never use 4x4, ocassionaly i push the button just to cycle it but that's about it. It's possible that my wife accidently ran around in auto 4x4, she did that once in my truck.

It started right after a long trip though, which got me worrying that something was hotter than usual and the fluid expanded and burped.

Probably good advice to flush/refill and clean the vent tube. I'll start there.
