Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but not to Chevy... hopefully someone out there can give me a definitive answer for a fairly simple question... will an 4L80E transmission from a 1999, 3500 2wd be a direct replacement for the 4L70E that came stock in my 2008, 1500 6.0ltr. V-MAX 2wd??? I Have gotten like four answers from different sources and none of them sold me... Any help would be much appreciated...

Yeah: that's Kind of what I figured... just having problems finding a 70 at a reasonable price... I guess Ill pull the 70 for rebuild and drop a used 60 in it for the time being... what year model's would be compatible???

60e will work but might not handle the power as well like the 70...the tune might be different too, line pressure and shift points might be lil diff

it won't be in it long just want to build the original trans to handle a bit more power (considering I shredded second gear last week) just going to be tough keeping my foot off it while it has a sixty... so any 60e from a 1999 to 2008 should work???
