Ok so I just want to start off that I was one of those people that read all the reviews on treadwright tires. I couldn't find anyone that owned them that had a bad thing to say about them.

I needed to replaced the stock tires on my 08 NNBS. I found that treadwright makes a 285 65 r18 but they were currently out of stock on that size so I signed up for treadwright to alert me when my size became available through their website. After a few weeks I got the email saying that they were back in stock so I filled out the order form for 4 of them and they had a promo going on at the time so it worked out perfectly. I placed this order on July 02 2014.

After a week I realized I hadn't been charged yet so I logged into my account on their site and my order status was "pending" immediately I called because I thought I might have entered my billing info incorrectly or something.

I spoke to customer service rep and they told me there was no billing error, there was just a slight delay with the shipment on their end. He told me i should see a charge in about a week and the tires will ship.

I wait another week, still no charge or status change of my order. I gave it a couple of more days and then I call again. This time I speak to a female customer service rep and she tells me that my order didn't make it and I would have to wait a few more weeks for the next shipment before I would see the tires. At this time she did offer me the right to cancel the order but I had high hopes and I already had this much time invested.

09/20/2014 I send an email to customer service at treadwright saying that I was still waiting on my tires.

09/24/2014 I got the response:

"At this time, the tires are not available for shipment. These tires as of today is 6 weeks out. We don't have the tires nor the casing to manufacture the tires.

I do apologize for any inconveniences."

I was very disappointed at this point and I really should have canceled my order but then out of nowhere the next day 09/25/2014 I get an email saying:

"Thanks for choosing TreadWright Tires, we appreciate your business. Your credit card payment was approved and a copy of your order is attached for your review.

Shipment of your tires is expected in the next 2 to 5 working days"

I'm all excited at this point so I wait a couple of days. I check my credit card and it hasn't been charged. I call customer support again and they are telling me that they don't know why that email got sent but my tires won't be ready until mid November and my order was first in line to be filled.

They once again offered to let me cancel but like I said before I made it this far why get out of line now.

10/21/2014 I receive almost the exact same one but this time I had tracking info and my card was actually billed.

The unfortunate thing is that they billed me $200 more than their invoice said.

After receiving the tires I called about the billing issue. They refunded the difference which took 5 business days.

10/29/2014
I took the tires to be mounted and balanced. The first guy I took them to was my usual guy. I showed him the notice that came with the tires saying that they needed to be static balanced with the weight split on the inside and outside of the tire. He told me that he filled the instructions and tried to get the tires to balance and they just wouldn't come close.

I told him that was fine but he still charged me to mount the new tires and dispose of my old stock tires.

I figured how bad could they be. After about 5 minutes of driving I figured it out hahah it felt like my front end was gonna fall apart they were shaking so bad.

Next, I drove the truck to a shop they specialized in recap tires I took them the same thing, static balance split the weight, and he said it would be no problem, drop the truck off and it would be ready by the end of the day.

So I get to that shop after work and he said the same thing, tires were way off and calling for over a pound of weight.

This guy was cool about it though. He didn't charge me since he couldn't help me.

At this point I'm desperate so I go to Firestone they say they don't have a static machine then I go to town afire they say they only do road force. Finally I get to pep boys they said no problem they can do static.

The tech came out and told me the same thing. This time I went into the shop with the technician and he walked me through everything he was doing. He set the machine on static and we spun each tire one by one. All four called for 26-28 ounces of weight. Now it's after dark so I nurse the truck home nice and slow and call it a night.

I called treadwright the next day 10/30/2014 and they told me I would have to file a warranty claim through their site. I followed through and did just that.

I received a call back and got a voice mail saying I could ship the tires back for a refund and after they inspect them they will refund shipping and the tires.

I called them back to clarify that they were expecting me at pay for the shipping. I told the customer service rep that was ridiculous I waited months to get these tires and after visiting 3 shops they expect me to front the shipping cost?

She put me on with the manager. I told him the whole story. He told me to feel the tires for any bumps so I run out to my truck. I didn't feel anything so that's what I told him I asked him if he thought the shops were doing something wrong with the balancing and he said it didn't sound like it. Finally he told me he would issue me a refund and to just keep the tires. I thought that was obviously above and beyond what he could have done so I thanked him and went upon my way.

Now I have given them 2 weeks and still no refund and I call them today 11/12/2014. It was like we had never spoke. The customer service rep says "I see on your file that you are supposed to ship us back 1 tire, has it been shipped yet" immediately I ask to talk to the manager. She puts me on hold and then gets back to me saying the managers not here and I should hear back from him later today. Then she stops herself and said she can hear him so she puts me on hold again. Now she picks up and says there's nothing they can do I have to ship the tires to them and they will reimburse me so I said that's ridiculous and they put me on hold again and now they say that they will schedule a pick up for the tires.

I mean tho has been an absolute disaster now I have to take them to a shop and get them broken off the rims and pay again. What about the $110 to have these things mounted and balanced I mean this has got to be a joke.

I would not recommend anyone buy from these guys. It's be an absolute nightmare.

So moral of story is don't be a cheap ass by buying retreads?

sorry for your loss but this is the exact reason why i would never cheap out when buying tires. Yes there is a chance you won't come into any issues but buying a reputable tire is less likely to have any issues arise.

Next time you want cheap tires go to one of the local used tire shops. The ones here are usually pretty good.

I'd send them the link to this post you made and tell them you're going to keep posting about their customer service on other forums until they give you a refund or cost free replacement. Even though you asked for it by buying retreads, you shouldn't have to pay excessive shop fees and shipping because of their shitty tires.

They were like $615.00 after all was said in done plus like I said I put $110 into trying to balance them. Now I gotta pay to have em taken off the rims and I'm left empty handed and all of the time lost. And I still gotta buy a new set of tires!
damn. Coulda got a new set of tires for that

I know one part I left out of my story is that someone was selling the same size tires on Craigslist. They were Atturo trail blade MTs for $700 cash brand new. I talked to him about it the day before they shipped the treadwrights. But after I saw they were shipped I told him I was no longer interested.

The worst part of this whole thing is they still won't refund the money until the tires are received and "inspected" buy then and I need that refund to buy a new set. I can't afford to just front the $600 AND buy a new set of tires on top of it.

Either way when it's all said and done and I get new tires I'll post pics and let yall know how I made out. I appreciate everyone's support.

Well apparently they can't get the tako2s. Tire rack has them but I'm done with buying tires over he Internet for a while lol.

I decided to get nitto trail grapplers instead (they were actually 5$ less a tire. They have to get them from the warehouse so I'll have it done either Saturday or Monday

Hopefully that was a wise decision.

all that off brand shit is PURE garbage. atturo blade whatever the fuck you call its, those federal couragias, all those tires are pure shit. and this is glorious proof of that.

if it makes you feel any better, one of my trail graps balanced out with ZERO weight, the other 3 required less than 3 ounces.

also, static balancing is a cheap way to balance tires that usually requires LESS weight as it only balances out the the up and down movement in the tire and not the side to side. a dynamic balance is the best balance it is calculates all the movement and heavy spots in the tire to get the best of both worlds.

although personally, i really like nitto's new terra grappler g2. finally getting a bit more aggressive with their all terrains. my trail graps ride nice and are very quiet for mud tires, but the noise still exists and i'm getting grandpaish and want a quiet truck. but i'll deal with it.
