I'm in the process of putting a True Trac and new 4.56 gears in my 2004 Sierra 10 bolt. I'm currently about to put the carrier bearings on and I noticed that it looks like the bearings are not going to go over the carrier? I know it's supposed to be a tight fit, but not that tight? The OD of the carrier is 1.799" and the ID of the bearing is 1.623". Does this seem about right? MY master install kit says 1999-2006 trucks. I don't want to start beating on this bearing and scar up the carrier or bearing if I need to return them.
Ok, so I do not need a specific True Trac install kit? I just need to get the vendor to supply the correct 8.6 master install kit and it will work with the True Trac?
Close. The bearings have the 8.5 OD and the 8.6 ID. The cross section is smaller.
