make sure the wiring is all connected and the sauter joints are good still. It could have corroded the wires preety bad.

wire connections, not sure I spelled sauter right. But yeah, just look over the wiring and connections to make sure nothing came loose or corroded to the point of being inoperable. Most of the time wiring doesn't go bad, but connections do.

Try taking it to an electronics shop and see if they can repair it as a last option.
