A brand new 4 bolt Vortec 350 is $2000 from GM.

If your 350 came from a Vette/Camaro/Firebird/Caprice(B-Body) it will have a roller cam.
If it is from a 1987-1995 truck it should have a flat tappet hydraulic cam.

It is 100% an 87-95 engine. Many of them were TBI/TPI but still had the mechanical fuel pump capability. I had a 1989 TPI 305 that originally had a manual trans(making it a desireable type of roller cam-comparatively speaking). I installed this TPI/305 in a 1984 GMC Sierra that also came stock with the LE3 250 inline 6 with the stock 2 bbl carb which made [email protected]/210lb/ft [email protected]

I'm guessing its probably an LO5 350, but who knows.

I suggest you get a SBC book. There are differnces if you go back to 55, heck they didnt even have oil filters in the 1st year of the SBC. The basic design is the same.
You wouldnt want anything from about pre 62 anyways.

It would be easier to get your goals going to a newer engine IMO.
