My friendly GM dealer replaced my oil pan seal under warrenty on my 2wd sierra. They had to drop the front cross member and steering rack to remove the pan. My wheel was straight when it went in and left the dealer. About two miles down the road i hit a slight bump and my wheel moved to the left 1/2 turn....WTF? I took it back and the allinged it for free. Nothing was loose under neath. Do I have an internal problem in my rack? Could it have been something they did? I did have my tie rods replaced about 5,000 miles ago. Could something have worked loose inside? Truck drives fine now, equal wheel turn lock to lock from left to right. Should i worry?

thanks!!

I doubt anything would go wrong with the rack itself. I'd be more worried about the steering column slipping on itself or a tierod bending.

I looked at everything when it was on the rack and all looked good. today at home i'm gonna drive her up on the ramps and double check everything. So far the wheel is staying straight.
