hopefully sometime this summer, after all the body work is done, i want to paint my truck. Now i dont know if i want to just keep it black like it is now, paint it a lighter color since black is a PITA to keep clean, or paint it a two-tone color. So any suggestions would be helpful. if you think a two-tone color would look good please suggest what two-colors would look good. thanks

I vote electric lime with candy flames, but from your choices, I'd go with black on top with silver on the bottom

thanks guys for you input. its either gonna be all black, or a two-tone for sure. For the two-tone its down to black and gray with some kind of graphic design in the middle of the colors. But ill have my mind made up here soon after all the body work is done.

Sounds like you got your colors picked, but I'ma toss a few ideas out anyway. All of them need a small graphic of some kind to split the color.

Black on top with purple on the bottom I'm gonna go ahead and suggest the shade of purple. Mix HOK Majik Blue pearl with Pasion pearl(do it over a black base instead of the white HoK recomend).

PPG Dimond white pearl on top of a verry light silver maybe mix white into it. kinda like the red over red on the Ekstensive Tahoe.

PPG flame yellow pearl on top of black.

HoK Lime tyme pearl on top (almost any)silver on bottom.

Arrival blue over Sebring silver

Almost forgot, HoK Lyme Tyme(or similar) with Pagan Gold(Kandy color) on top black w/Prismatique(not too much just enough to wke up the black.) on bottom.

BTW by chance do you have any pics of the colors you mentioned on any truck similar to mine?

cool, anything will do just to give me an idea of what they look like.
The first green is the color on an032nv flames, but like he said it's not a good representation of the color. The second green, should be close to the color on "the Cody Project" from OCC.
This is Flame yellow.

I know you've seen Arrival blue, and Sebring silver was used on F-bodies and 'Vettes.

The purple, well it's hard to see in pics, but it's the fade color on my flames. I don't know how much he used of each color to mix it though.

I'm still going to look for pics.

thanks for the pic grounded. I think i have almost made a decision. Im not going to go the all black look anymore, so thats out. What is in is some two-tone scheme. And it think i want to do a blue and either silver or grayish color combination. I think those two colors (either one) will work with the blue. I just need to decide on a nice graphic to seperate the two colors now.

Blue and silver always looks good. The only draw back is how popular that combo is. I think you could get a nice color from mixing silver or white with the grey on J's truck. I'd keep the graphic something simple, maybe aa air brushed chrome strip or something that looks like stone, marble or granet. Instead of a straight two tone at the bodyline give it some shape for a feeling of movement. I'll try to play with something in photoshop.

yeah i was just thinking about how popular that color combo really is. I kinda like the white and silver idea. Maybe a pearl white on top and a metalic silver or something on the bottom. I think i would just do a nice simple graphic, nothing to out there, just simple. Thanks for the help and info man :read:
