I prefer the platform names too but calling each by OBS, NBS, and NNBS has already planted its feet IMO.

Some might not know this, but in 1998, GM had a very large, drawn-out labor union strike. Truck production came to a standstill. This happened just as the 1999 model year GM pick-up trucks were meant to begin production. The strike finally came to an end, but it was already a few months into when the '99's were have supposed to be introduced, but had not. So...GM actually titled and sold a few thousand 1998 trucks, as 1999 model year trucks. The new 1999 body-style trucks became available after a few short months. Just a FYI.:)

damn, that took me a bit to figure out too...

and then add in the "ECSB" or "RCLB", etc... for the cab and bed... acronyms hurt my brain.

if something is a 2007, how do you know if it's nbs or nnbs?
Appearance is plenty to differentiate. Just one look.

2007 NBS = "Classic" Like 2007 Sierra "classic", or 2007 Silverado "classic", which means it's just a left over of the NBS before they moved onto NNBS.
