i was wondering what tailgate cap came stock on my truck? it's a '99. this one fits like crap and it keeps coming off. should it be this one or the shelf kind?

all of the gates came the same, sierra's and w/t's came with the one like yours

LS/LT silverado's came w/ the shelf

your truck had a cap on when you bought it didnt it? chances are the camper shell place swapped the cap so the hatch would close

i can't do a painted cap. i use my bed for work all the time. it would be ruined.

i put a 04 one on my 01 looks 10x better

you can get em on here usually cheap like 10 bucks

take a look, if you have holes, then it came w/that cap

if you have threaded, welded in nutserts then it came with the shelf style

2 different styles, the 99-02's look cleaner IMO
