I just mounted a new set of 285/50r20 cooper zeon ltz on 20x12 moto metal 962s. I took them to a shop to have them balanced and they got 3 of them just fine with 5-6 oz but the fourth one they said was off by 370 oz and they couldn't balance it. Is it more likely that I have a bad wheel or a bad tire? They weren't much help in diagnosing the problem, I'm guessing because I didn't buy my wheels or tires there.. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok, it was the first one they tried and they said it looks balanced on the machine but it's throwing up a crazy number. Then they did the other 3 and they balanced fine. But they were still telling me something was wrong with the first one.
I took it to Raben tire which is the big chain tire store around here and that's what the guy was telling me. I mounted all four of them myself the exact same way. I've never balanced a tire so I was just going off what the guy said..
Well I ended up taking it to another shop and he told me that it will never balance too. I've done some more research on the issue and apparently Moto Metal has had some issues with hubs being off center so I'm thinking that's my problem. I've contacted the dealer I purchased them from so I guess I'll wait and see what they say. Thanks for the help fellas.
Well I had them road force balanced at a shop that everyone says is good and they told me both the wheel and the tire were messed up. I contacted the tire place and they told me I could send it back and they'd send me a replacement. The wheel place has yet to respond to my phone call or email. http://s40.photobucket.com/user/htde90/media/Mobile Uploads/image_zps3ba24af0.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1
