I have a 350 tbi engine in my '95. I have a 350 engine year unknown sitting under my work bench. If I had the mystery 350 freshened up, would I be able to transfer my tbi heads and intake onto the fresh shortblock?

Well peep the rear main seal, see if it's one piece or two. I hate two piece.

Also look for a roller lifter assembly. And a casting number.

the engine in the truck is running and not using oil. i put a performer tbi intake on it a while back, so I know it doesn't have a roller drivetrain. the other 350 was on seven cylinders and I don't know what year it is. I thought that I might be able to rebuild my mystery 350 or trade it off on a rebuilt 350 then add a compatable cam and maybe aftermarket heads for more get up and go. I just didn't know if there was anything that would keep me from using an older style block. Like the heads and intake not bolting up, or water pump or distributor being different.
