Personally I like the brand that TSC sells. Just pulled one from my truck thats been in there since 2001. It has a ton of cranking amps and a good reserve capacity. I also like Deka's. The last one i had in a vehicle had a higher reserve capacity than both my brothers yellow top and dads red top. Thing is i can't find many of them around here anymore

i work at advance so any battery 1.5 years old has to be pulled from the shelf and sold as USED. I got it for 45 plus tax. Still had perfect charge put it in my truck fired right up and worked ever since.

Interstate megatron plus or Bosch. Seen far too many Optimas die after only a year or two or 5. I'm in the minority though. Had a Bosch that lasted 8 years on an underdriven import alternator, same with an interstate megatron.
I'd use a Duralast/CSK battery before I'd use an Optima... strictly because if you have one go bad any autozone will replace it on the spot. I had one in my BMW and it was a great battery. no surprise though, because in the end, all those mentioned + Diehard + Walmart/OEM are all made by the same company, Johnson Controls.

the only way i'd ever have a n optima, would be if it was going inverted or laid down.

I would go Optima. I have used an assortment of different batteries in my trucks and my wife's cars and I have had the best luck with Optima. I will soon be buying an Optima blue top for my boat and when the battery dies in my truck one day I will be putting one in it.

This.

Exactly the same reason why I run Walmart's Everstart brand.
