who makes a good 6x9 plate?

clarion does i think....... it maybe a 6x8 though im not sure you can get those adapters that mount a 5 1/4 component in a 6x9 opening wich would be the samething actually....the infinity 6x9s have a removeable seperate tweeter (the tweeter is actually seperate from the woofer unlike most spkrs)and a low/high pass filters exactlly like a component set.......so you could use that if you wanted to mount a tweeterand it would fnction just like a component

For what application? I'd prob get a good 6 1/2" component set, and make a custom plate to fit a 6x9" hole.

why didn't i think of that! dammit. great idea. that's what the guys at the local shop told me too... nice to see some people are honest and would rather fab me a set of cheap plates instead of sell me a set of $200 6x9s. looks like my kappa 6.5s are no longer for sale :cheers:
