hey guys whuts up? well my parents just bought me my first truck, its a 06 silverado z71 with 60 thousand miles. i realy want to try to make this truck last as long as i can. i was just wondering whut oil you guys think would be the best. my dad has always ran regular oil but my buddy swares on mobile 1 5w 30 synthetic, i have read around and it seems like synthetic is the way to go, just wondering whut you guy's though? thanks!

Cant go wrong with any major brand synthetic 5w30 and a good filter like wix or mobil 1

Where did you see/hear that? The C6 vettes came with Mobil 1 straight from the factory.

I know for a fact the Vs do, but I'm not sure about the other Caddys.

I like 10W30 synthetic. I only put the "recommended" 5W30 in during winter. My 6.0 just seems to perform better with the thicker oil.

Probably just their personal opinion or the dealer uses Castrol.

The majority of people who who synthetic on here, use Mobil 1. I've been running it for years but I'm sure the Castrol is good oil too. (honestly I don't think you'd see a damn bit of difference either way).

i like quaker state q-torque synthetic. been running it for about 40,000 miles. truck runs great. its got 104,000 on it.

I've always ran valvoline 10w-40 Max Life in my 84, and I havent changed the oil in my 99 yet.

werd... ac delco makes good oil filters too?
btw the offset on the 22's 25... sorry to hijack for that...

25 SHOULD be good with either a 285 45 22 or 275 45 22. You might have to trim some plastic, VERY minor.

AC Delco is the OEM oil filter. They're always good price and I figure you can't go wrong with OEM.
