So here's the whole story. I started out with stock everything but true dual exhaust, a K&N intake and my own little predator programmer tune and my best run was a 15.1. Then i wanted to do more so i bought a everything in my sig except the nelson tune to get faster. I had the cam and springs installed by some guy and then maybe 3 months later i put my headers on. then i had to have my exhaust modified to one flange again because of the headers so now i have one pipe that splits into two 1 in 1 out flowmasters. Without the tune i ran a 16.0 flat and i was like that sux but maybe it's the tune. So i bought the tune and i just got to run it again last night. So now, my first run was a 15.4. The next run i made was with a better reaction time but a little bit slower 15.4. Then i got an even better reaction time and ran a 15.5. I'm pissed. 3500 dollars that made me go from 15.1 to a 15.4. Any ideas? Please help me on this

What were your 60' times and trap speeds? Your ET is not the only important number to look at.

a torque converter should fix it. you lost a little low end torque with that cam and headers. post up your time slips.

oh and your reaction times dont count towards your actual ET. reaction time just gets you that winners light if its a close match up.

I'm extremely impressed with your 15.1. I guess there's hope for me yet. What could i expect with just a muffler swap and predator? (i don't have the HO though

60' time is crap. Get that down to a 2.0 at least, you'll be into the 14s easily

Yeah you moved the power up, you need a stall to fix this.

I don't know many he's running a 210/218. That's a pretty small cam. He still should have lost time in the 1/4. You are right though, his 60 is horrible.

I agree, but I'm still lead to believe theres a ton more to gain from a better tune.

Were shift points raised?

I know these good mild street cams really pick up great midrange torque.

i stand behind this after seeing your slip. definately get a converter. 2600-2800 minimum. 3000 would be nice. there IS bottom end lost even with the 216/220 114. bump those shift points to 6400 1/2 and 62-6300 2/3 when you get the tune touched up for the stall.

Don't get me wrong Stu, I definantly agree with you, but that's not a big cam AT ALL. He shouldn't have lost time after installing that cam. His 60 is terrible though. I'd opt for the tt3000 stall, and you're right about the shift points. I had mine set to 6400 and 6300 just like you just stated and it made a world of difference. I also need a stall too, and I'll be doing the whole built tranny/3200 stall at the same time.

I don't even care to know what my 60' time is with a 224/224 cam on a 112 lsa on a stock stall
