my dad just got an adapter for xm on his 06 jeep and we got it all hooked up and it doesnt work, its supposed to be an adapter for chrysler radio. so any ideas? its on the premium radio 6 cd changer. is there a way to enable the radio to switch on xm? when i hit the mode button nothing comes up only cd. anybody know or any you chrysler guys?

no rear entertainment (haha) oh. anyways the radio said optional sattelite xm radio on the owners manual but i came across another problem, theres no power going into it so im guessing the radio is defective?

That XM Direct unit is the same one I installed in my previous truck ('04 Ram with Infinity System and RBQ 6-disc In-Dash Radio). I had no issues, but things change year by year.

If your dad's Jeep is a 2006 Grand Cherokee or Commander, unit will not work. If it's a Liberty, it won't work if the radio has the rear entertainment system. And, if it's a Wrangler, it should work with all radios except the basic AM/FM radio.

double check the cable, maybe you need to power it externally

you do have the XMD1000 as well right? pretty sure thats the model number.
