Google lead me to this forum enough times that I figure it was time to join. Burb is a 2003 daily driver. Went with a stockish look with a solid backbone. First and best thing I ever did was the switch from 3.73 to 4.88 gears. Took the opportunity to make it stronger with Yukon axle and a True Track carrier. Front was also done with stronger half shafts and internal clips. Trans was done with the typical upgrades along with a billet input shaft, 5 pinion planetaries, 0.500 boost valve, super servos, raybeztos zpak, and a 2,600 stall. Engine has a Thumpr Cam at 219/233 with a 109 LSA. Slobbers all over itself during idle, but smooths out at 2,000 rpms and makes decent power. Truck also has Trick Flow heads with comp 918 springs and a Trailblazer SS intake manifold. Exhaust is custom bent and welded to a 30 inch long chambered muffler for rumble. On the outside is just Tow Mirrors, 285 tires with cranked stock keys and 2 inch rear spacers. Shocks are Rancho 9000s with limiting straps.

Right now I have a few ideas on stuff I might upgrade but at this point I've been very content with it as a DD. Here's some pics.

Why I added Tow Mirrors.

It's clean. Removed the cladding but still need to drill out the bracket on the rear quarters.

Lots of potential with a new wheel/tire combo.

Wish i could beef my internals up like that though

Wheels are just steelies off Summit Racing. 9 inches wide with 5 inches of backspacing. As for tires the biggest I would go is a 33x12.5. Might add a centrifugal supercharger like a low boost Vortech one day. Right now if you punch it 0-60 is in the 6 second range. Getting it in the 5 second range would be nice.

Blurry but here's cruising in 4th gear with the converter locked. Yeah 4.88s aren't tolarable past 65mph. My name's "11mpg" for a reason

I run 4.88 and have no complaints.
In the city it's awesome. Launches like a catapult. However with 285/70r17 tires to me the highways are tedious. Great though with the camper. At 60mph dropping to 3rd gear puts you right in the best part of the torque curve.
