I've got a 2009 GMC Sierra that is having major problems.
It has 250K miles on it and yesterday I hoped in it and the drivetrain just started acting crazy. It feels like the transmission is about to let go.

It seems like all the shift points are at a higher RPM that normal. It seems like it just falls out of gear at times. It feels like it's slipping other times.

However, what is odd about it. I've never had a hint of a problem. It's like a light switch was flipped. I know the electronics on these things can cause all kids of crazy issues.

Any body have similar experiences?

I've tried to hook up my OBD2 but it is not reading the truck. I called Craftsman and they informed me that the tool should run with out batteries by getting power from the vehicle. Apparently, the vehicle is not providing power to the OBD2 port.

Does anyone know which fuse supports this system?

The Aux power fuse was blown. (Didn't effect my problem)

Looking at the fuse diagram there is a fuse called "Info". Which is NOT blown.

Best bet would probably take it somewhere that has Tech-2 software and get a diagnostic. In my area it runs around $90-100 for it.

Turned out the transmission was destroyed. We dropped the pan and aluminum shavings were every where. We even had shavings coming out of the hydraulic port. Over the weekend we installed a remanufactured unit from GM. Since the old unit was taken out I'm required to reset the software in the transmission.

My question:
Is my truck not drive able until the computer work is completed?

Can I drive it to my dealer to get it programmed?
