So I decided to tackle the tablet install last weekend ... I didnt want to chop up the dash bezel, so i did everything as nondestructive as I could.
I started by taping up the dash bezel and laying two layers of fiber glass over the radio, ac, vent, and onstar openings.

Then after pulling the tape off trim the base to fit

i put bolts thru the front and glassed them in ... with the front piece secured to the bezel, i taped the back and made a back plate that would sandwich the piece to the bezel... gonna need some modification, it could be sturdier.. ill keep ya posted.
the flat piece i made on the work bench will be the back of the slot for the tablet. got it trimmed up here...

ill be honest, its kind of a work as i go thing i have an idea of what i want but not a sure way of doing it. so if you see a short cut im missing let me know .
for the relocation of the deck and ac controls , again i didnt want to cut the stock piece so im making it from scratch.. Just got the floor taped up and glassed today.. ill then take a piece of mdf or fiberglass that will fit both pieces and float it using dowel rods or just a 2x4... then wrap the whole thing in fleece and reinforce that.

while i was waiting on all that resin to set up i thought id tear into the ac controls. pretty much just followed what ive seen others do. i just had some blue leds aroung and an assortment of resistors. I dont remember all the numbers on the leds but i used 470 kohm resistors. i think im gonna go a brighter on the dials and dim the buttons a bit.
