Something tells me youre not going to be able to fit those behind the seat. I have an 05 Crew Cab and cant even fit a pioneer premier flat sub behind the seat. Whats the mounting depth on those?
They will fit. The box has already been in my truck, I built it lol. I got the shallower DD 8s I think its a hair over 4.5" it is the T1508.

Do a box 10-12 downfire imo.
My next build is gonna be the same box design but with a single downfiring fully loaded Fi Audio BL12 on 1200 watts!!!
I'de also like to make a smaller design for a RE SX10 I have laying around.

What software are you using to build the box in? I've been looking for one that can make a cut sheet also.
My lil brain...
I use a tape measure, pencil, paper, and a calculator. :)
As far as slot port help, I use the RE calc, and the 12volt.com calculators

I'm not a fan of round pvc ports, just never used em.

The only thing I would change about the box design is to add bracing. These subs are beast and flex the shit out of the box and truck LOL.... I'm definetly losing sound output from the box flexing..

I think it looks awesome and you did an awesome job on the box build.

I have no doubt those 8s hit pretty good. But Id put my 2 12s against your 8s for sure :D
Thanks, u sure u wanna go up against em? Ur gonna be pretty disapointed in ur 12's..... jk. I wish we could battle it out..

Yeah dude I'm from Oklahoma and DD is based in OKC. All DD stuff slams, good call on the 1508's! The box looks sick also! But I'm in an 05 CC and have one 8" L7 back there with a zx1500.1, built the box 1cu. @ 34hz and braced the shit out of it. Everyone around here hops in and guesses way over. I've heard everything from one 15, two 12's, four 10's, four 8's, etc... It's badass having one or two 8's and making people's jaws hit the floor.

Nice work!

After getting bored of my two sealed RE Audio REX 8" subs. I sold my Fi BL18 and used the money to buy a pair of carbon fiber coned Digital Designs 1508's.

For two 1508's, DD recommends 2 cubic feet, 32 square inches of port area, and a 21" long port. So with this in mind I designing a box to cram under the rear seat of my 2008 Silverado. In order for the seats to fold down and function, the seat must be raised a bit (about .5 to .75 inches). I used big spare nuts and big washers for spacing between the cab floor and seat frame.

Building the box was easy using a full 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" mdf, 18ga brad nails, wood glue, skil saw, and silicone to seal it up. The routered edges and carpet was my little touch. I also ordered two grilles from Digital Designs to protect my subs.

Here's a quick drawing of my box dimensions... Please remember that this crappy sketch is not to scale and is not exact. So please no bashing or corrections.

Box turned out incredible bro!! love the looks of it..
have a question, for ex, in the kicker manual it only says the rec area but just one sub.. if i plan to run 2 would i multiply the rec area x2 including the port area and such or how did u figure out the airspace for both subs combined? or does your sub website allready give you this info??.. thanks props

I'm thinking of selling my truck, I live in west TX. Charly wanna buy my box?

Man i would like a box for my 2010 NNBS but for 10's. I had an audio store tell me you could not lift the rear seat due to the clip on the back wall where the upper back rest is they told me they would have to cut and reweld the U bracket so the upper seat would clip back.I dont know if i made myself clear or not. But anyways how do you go about doing that?

Hey where did you get the grilles you used I want to get some like that when for when I do my system in my truck thanks

I didn't have to move those clips cuz I only raised my seat 3/4". If you try to raise the seat up an inch or two you might have a problem.

Would something like this work for two JL 8W7s or are they simply too deep? Thx :)
You prolly could pull it off if you raised the seat an inch or more and notched the subwoofer box for the W7s big magnets.
