2001 2500HD. 8.1 litre tow/haul mode causes MAF code P0101

I have cleaned the sensor, which was pretty clean, replaced air filter and cleaned butterfly valve. No change. I was hauling a 1500 lb empty trailer with T./H turned off. Loaded a 1500 lb side by side for a total of 3000 lb. Selected T/H. I got the code in less than 2 miles. Cleared the code, turned off tow haul, its only 3000 lb on a 8.1 with Allison trans. it shifted and ran great, NO codes. I will try just T/.H with no load. I just bought the truck but it is supper clean with only 80k miles.

Sounds like you need a new MAF and doubt it has to do with the tow setting,
just the engine pulling more air when towing.

I get the error code only with tow/haul on. When i turn it off, no error. Thats is with the same load. So the load is not changing, only the tow/haul mode setting. If it was just the engine pulling more air when towing, id get the error with the tow/haul setting off.
