A damn squeak!

It is a shot in the dark but has anyone experienced a squeak behind the dash? I took my dash apart one day to find it and I was unable to find the fucking squeak that is driving me nuts. It is constant and sounds like something is rubbing up on something else (almost like plastic on metal). It is the loudest behind the driver's side left A/C vent if it helps. I'm going to pull the door panel off to see if it may come from there but I'm pretty sure it is somewhere in the dash.

Thanks.

a squeak just started in my truck like a week ago, and it sounds like its coming from behind the driver's side left A/C vent. i torn my dash off too and found nothing so if you figure it out let me know
Let me know if you find out what the problem is if you find it before me finding out how to find out what the finding solution is...

Yes, I'll let you know

I had that same squeak as well. When it starts, try pushing against the left vent, not the trim panel. That's what it was on my truck. I think the two pieces were rubbing together.
I used some closed cell foam (Overkill Pro from secondskinaudio.com) and glued it on the inside of the trim panel. It worked great. Hope that helps.

I forgot about this thread. I did notice that when I pushed really hard against the bezel at that area really hard (mainly because I was pissed) that it did quiet down a bit. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I appreciate the help :shake:
