And would rent it out? Or can I modify a big C clamp to do the same thing? I am located a little North of Indianapolis, IN if anyone is close, that would be great.

Thanks,

I don't expect to use it more than 4 times.
I guess to rent one & pay shipping wouldn't be far from it huh?
THanks,

I've used a gear puller every time, but MAKE SURE the puller is secured to the frame with something, they've popped off on me a couple times.

There is more to it than that. You need a tool that looks like a big C clamp or a set of 2 jaw gear puller. I used the gear puller, but it didn't have enough travel to get the retainer part in on the green keys. So I used a coil spring compressor without one side of the "jaws".

I used a 2 jaw puller when I did mine and it took me literally 20 minutes to do the whole frontend. This was my first time attempting this. Very simple job and the 2 jaw puller works great.
