Hey I broke a CV joint the other day and had to replace it. Now, I got 36's and I was wondering... do they make upgraded and stronger cv joints and shafts to put in our trucks? or do I just have to shell out 100 bucks every now and then when they pop? Thanks!

Rough Country is r&d'ing a set right now. I talked to their sales rep this past weekend in Lima., He said they should be out very soon, and they have been tested thru hell. He said that they have a 3 year, 36K mile warranty i think it was, and they will run 900-1000 a set. I plan to upgrade mine soon, that way its less i gotta worry bout after the lift.

i think you can get the stock replacement ones from auto stores that have a lifetime warranty so you only have to pay for one no matter how many you break, but i could be wrong.

Word.

Its in the new July 06' 4Wheel & offroad. They've been building up a OBS 2500 with a bigblock in it. They keep breaking parts. So they've just upgraded to the Rough Country CV's. They are 3yr, 36,000 mile warrantied. "Heat treated steel slip spline shafts and six ball-fixed CV joints." They said they were about $800 for the set.

Just get life-time warrenty ones and change them out when they bust. It isn't to hard, just messy if that CV grease goes everywhere.

Good way to make that aluminum diff the weak link.

:word:

Get he autozone ones for like 80bux with the lifetime warranty and break all you want.
Or get some bullet proof ones that will never snap and transfer that torque to your aluminum front diff and bust it.
Trust me your cheapest and best route of the two is the autozone ones and just have it replaced free if it does it again.

Ive busted my front diff with regular CV's that didnt fail. I could only imagine having a set that are extra strong... a front diff wouldnt stand a chance
