confused.. most that put tablet remove head unit all together. but ur just using yours as a giant mp3 player? but all that aside. i like the idea of how you did it. although losing the stock hvac vents is odd?

are you going to use it just to play music? and how is the quality from bluetooth?> seems it would be better if u ran a usb port or atleast a microphone jack.

Ohnine , yep its just a big ass mp3 player ... sq is fuckin awesome for the most part the only thing I fight with is shitty download quality. But that's something else all together. I've one of the biggest radio names in the Midwest compliment the sound so for my purposes I think its perfect. Losing the vent isn't that big of deal to me, the climate is still perfectly controllable as is. I stuck with BT bc my head unit doesn't charge on its USB. And usin a headphone jack would Be a pain BC of the way its setup to slide in... the charging port is on the bottum and headphone jack is on the side ... I suppose it could be done but but was the obvious choice for me. And I wouldn't get rid of the radio or DVD player .. I still use them too much to justify going only with the tablet. Also I'm getting a bt port that will send info from the computer to the tablet so no its not just for music

yeah I dont know ... ive thought about sandin the dash down and shooting some color on it ... just dont know what would look good to me that wouldnt clash with the tan. so for now ill just try and match the stock ... also I havent seen any white interior projects that i fell in love with, but id like to tie in the exterior color somewhere as well.

Hey I have a question bout the resin. I mixed too much together how long do I have before it is trash? Can I add a little laqure thinner to make it last lil longer or just trash it and make new? I've only got to glass the top panel left and I'm pretty sure I've got enough to finish but hate wasting resin BC it was 20 bucks lol

bad ass! im using bluetooth from my phone to head unit to play music off my phone, but now im having ideas of glassing a tablet into the center console lid or something lol

and like said above, the BT music quality is just as good as a direct connection

well its obvious my headunit does not have bluetooth nor have i heard the quality from bluetooth to headunit. lol. still wouldnt work for what i want. because my headunit dont have blue tooth. lol
imo paint it flat black and leave rest of interior stock. im sure their is flat black in there somewhere. black goes with everything. lol

i like it. mostly because its not a ipad. lol. not saying im android fanboy. i just wanted to see something different. and the fact that i want to do something alot like what your doing. and cannot afford a ipad?

Ohnine I'm the same way. Ppl with ipads hoard even their old junk. No worries tho bc I'm the barter king in my town lmao I've got a disability and ever since 09 I've been trading non stop. Vehicles tools etc. I traded an indash flip for 20's on parellis so I'm always on Craigslist. Actually found a Dana 44 complete with Chevy six lug outers for 80 bucks! Trying to trade for it Lol. I traded for my acer iconia a500.

He's a member on here. Yea it's clean bc its an iPad. My tablet requires a Lil more effort bc the ports aren't the same as an iPad. Ipads are great if u can get one reasonably priced or gifted to u. I've got three ipads in total bc I fix them but everyone wants to do ipads I like to do things that not most ppl do like use android. Too many ppl praise apple I think they're over rated. My a500 has USB ports HDMI port sd card port and 16gigs internal.

you said getting bluetooth for your computer. do u mean like a bluetooth module to plug into the truck so it can send info to the tablet? info on this? ive seen a little about some of this just not sure what all its capable of.

U can wirelessly share anything with Any device setup on ur network. So you can ultimately do this with out a bt module. Just third party apps both on ur comp and tablet.

Ok ... Been more busy today than expected and didn't get to work on anything as much as I wanted... I'm not sure if I regret doin the glass the way I did or if my skills with it are just not there yet... But it seems like I keep takin steps forward then back... In some areas I've sanded thru the bondo and opened new holes or bubbles on the fiberglass! Talk about frustrating .. Any opinions on filler primer? The pinholes left could be filled w that I think. Besides a bubble I have to fix .. That's gonna take some dremeling then more bondo... Again :/

Yeah I've seen that silverado install and it's sick , IPad or not.. But again I wanted to keep this as nondestructive as possible. Just wanna keep the option to go back to stock.

Anyway here's the dock as of today .. Did some more sanding and found that big damn bubble on the top ..

alrighty. never mind. thought you was getting the bluetooth obd2 scanner tool. so you could run the app on ur tablet. imo if i had a tablet in my truck with bluetooth id be running that app. seems awesome

apps like 5 bucks iirc. and u can get the obd2 tool for about 15-20 bucks. would be worth it to add that little bit more function to the tablet.
