do you want it to only work with the reverse on?

I didnt, i wired mine to the cigarette lighter power then Td into that with the signal wire from the camera.

 

Ya I want to hook it up to the reverse-on, my unit has a feature where you hold down the "NAV" button and it switches to camera.

I might be able to get a pic up tonight if my GF ever comes home with the truck. My lower plastic under the steering wheel is already off from yesterday's install and I plan to tap into that Dark Blue wire tomorrow or Tues. for the camera.

 

Can ou explain what it looks like? Is the BCM the box with about 6 connectors going into it? If so, which connector/harness do I look for the DarkBlue wire?

I have no idea what the BCM looks like and can't find any pics of it for the NNBS.

 

I think it is located under the driver seat.

I don't have the Lockpick harness, and that seems like you would need the dealer to reset the BCM. . .I think?

Has no one else hooked up their camera wire under the dash?

 

I tappped into mine right at my trailer lights. I ran some wiring down with the RCA cable in a big plastic wire protector right next to the OEM wiring. I think its the light green where the factory plug is, but on my U-haul wiring harness it was the pruple. Just shaved off some of the insulation and soldered the new wire in.

 

If you dont have trailer lights, its still trailer light ready, you can go right into it by the spare tire.

So you took your reverse lead from the radio and tapped into the trailer harness---and then for the camera did you run the power/acc wire into the cab or just tap into another wire under the truck?

Correct, I ran the wire from the head unit to the reverse wire in the trailer lights. Then, I ran the power and ground to the ACC power (red) and the ground (black) on my head unit. That way its got power all the time if I wanna mess with it and its not in reverse, but it automatically switches to camera when in reverse. I ran the RCA cable, reverse wire, power wire, and ground wire all inside a wire protector just like the OEM wiring is in to protect it. Zip tie it right to the OEM wiring all the way back. Wire protector like this but not purple lol.

Works perfect.

That's pretty much what I"ve said in about 6 threads now
