I'm running 3.43's on 33's. I haven't had any problems, but don't wanna have any in the future...I don't know anything about regearing. Where do I get gears? How mch are they? What size do I need to get? Sorry to thread jack!

if you want to do them yourself, they have kits that have all the parts needed to do it yourself. i took my truck to a local shop and had them do it. 600 bucks out the door.

turning 3k rpm in overdrive at 70 is dumb

what i dont get it so many of you say oohhh noooo 3.73s and 35s are bad

but how many swingin dicks are runnin 285s and 3.42s........ its the same fuckin shit
I'm turning 3k at a bit over 80 mph.

Even on a stock truck I'd want at least 4.10's.

Man you guys are making me vomit. I really need to get a set of gears. I just put a set of 315's on my truck with the lift and it has the factory 3.42's I think I'm going to save up some coin and go with a set of 4.56's hopefully I'll gain a little of my gas mileage back.

People with 35's go with 4.88's, trust me. Don't fear the gear.

i want to regear mine bad! it has 3:73's but one of my friends had a truck on 37 inch swanpers that he ragged in the mud with only 3:73s in it for years and never had a problem. Now one of my other buddies has it and its still fine n drives great, so i guess its all about how lucky you are

Maintenance. :shake:

Or do both for ultimate win.

I agree, to an extent. I like the pep of 35s and 4.56s. But my speedo is WAY off. At 70 it says I'm going 95. :nono: Hopefully it'll get better with 37s.

I drove my truck for a year with 3.42's and 35" mud graps. It really wasn't that bad and I got 14mpg pretty consistantly but that was mostly highway driving. Go with 4.10's or 4.56's asap to save your transmission if you do any kind of towing tho. You will be fine for awile as long as you keep an eye on the fluid in your trans and change it when it needs changing.

thanks for the info. I only tow once and awhile around town. just a 6x10 open trailer. only highway towing it sees is an atv or two on the trailer. i take it easy on the truck and keep up on all the maintaince. id like to swap the 3.73s for 4.10s or 4.56s in the feature but id also like to wait till i find a 9.5 sf 14 bolt:worship:. It realy dosent seam bad with 3.73s and the 35s for just daily driving. thanks again

I have the 4.10 rear end,no issue pulling anything. But I also don't have 35 inch mudders lmao

5.13's and 34's is so fun! ive torn threw freshly plowed fields and cant imagin how bogged down my truck woulda been without the 5.13's helping my little 5.3L turn those tires.
i drove my truck with 34's and 3.42's for about a month while i saved money to get gears, IT FUKIN SUCKED. i hate my truck, these trucks are gutless unless u got 6.0L in it. big tires and a gutless engine was a terrible truck to drive.

i turn 2500rpm's at 70mph and get 13mpg no matter how i drive.
5.13's no less!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea about my mpg but everything you said is spot on. :shake:

I LOVE it. Fucking love it.
