My 99 z71 has the ABS light on..The brakes feel fine other then a little soft which after I pulled the wheels and looked at the pads I know why..I am in the process of replaceing rotors and pads now at all 4 corners..I know this is not going to fix my ABS issue..but I don't really want to get into trouble shooting this anyhow..would perfer to just bypass abs all together for now..also is there anyway to pull the bulbs for the ABS?

More than likely your abs light is the front wheel speed sensors. There is a recall on them. Go to advanced or AutoZone and check the code. If its the front sensors take it to the dealer and they will replace them for free if it hasnt already been done.

The recall for the speed sensors involves removing the front sensors from the wheel bearings cleaning the rust from underneath them applying a zinc spray coating to help prevent rust from returning and reinstalling this is for false activation when coming to a stop

Sorry not meaning to thread jack but, my Check Engine light has been on for months now and the code reads "electronic brake control module". Brakes feel fine. No ABS Parking brake lights though.
