So I got the Transfer case out and the front driveshaft splines were seized to the Tcase.:hmm: The simple solution... cut the shaft.

I also built a new transmission crossmember using some scrap I had laying around. I looks like it will be pretty solid but I still need to make a Tcase skid plate.

For the record, I am no pro welder

So I got the front suspension out and cut off the brackets from the frame.

I kept the UCA mounts because that is the mounting point for the new shock towers.

The paint is still wet. I sprayed it with flat black.

This is a random picture of my 66 sitting in the driveway looking lonely.

I worked on the hoe a little today and it looks like after the 1" zero rates and moving the axle back I will need to get my driveshaft lenghtened. Just a note to everyone doing the passenger drop 241 swap. It is about an inch shorter than the stock auto crap. This combined with the shackle flip, 1" zero rate, 14 bolt ff, and axle relocation has necessitated a lengthened driveshaft.

Damn that's unfortunate to hear. I have the autotrac too and am planning on swapping in a 241 also.

I like it, great progress so far. And I dig the front end and color choice.

Keep is updated

So this week I installed the extended rear brake line from Offroad Design. It is actually a very nice piece! I will install the fronts next week. I also have the adjustable prop valve on and the ABS module/prop valve combo removed.
Next thing on the list is to do a mild shave on the 14 bolt. :sawzall:

Today I finally got some time to do some work on the hoe. I got the ORD spring brackets on and they fit well despite what everyone on here says. I will take some pictures when i get a chance. I also got the springs and diff installed. It is now rolling again! Once i get the shock hoops on, i will measure to see what length shocks i will need. There are also a couple of other little things I need to do like build a tcase shifter. I am thinking of going with a factory 88-98 floor shifter then running a cable to the transfercase selector, but i need to do some more thinking on that. I also need to put on the front brake lines, bleed the brakes and fill the diff and tcase with fluids. I also need to build the steering and get the driveshafts lengthened.

Move the front axle forward and put 38's :rockit:

Looks good man nice work, I to like the esky front end. I used to have one on my two door Yukon. Throw a cut out billet grill in, here's a pic of mine with that type of grill. This is a 6" rancho on 35's. Not trying to pirate your post. Awesome suspension work, more difficult than anything I would ever try. I'm in awe of people with this kinda skill!! :worship:
